January’s final surge of cold air will cause a wet mix of freezing rain or sleet over parts of the Florida Panhandle and Georgia late Tuesday night and Wednesday that may contain a few snowflakes over parts of Georgia through Wednesday night. Because of the danger of ice forming on tree branches and power lines, plus ice forming on bridges and overpasses, keep advised through local news reports on the changing conditions until the situation improves Thursday morning.

If you are tired of cold weather, just turn the page on your calendar to February as a string of days in the 70s will last for more than 10 days, one or two of them near 80 next week.
