It was not a tropical low, but it was the pressure gradient between the High over the Carolinas and the trough along the Florida coast that caused the rough seas and the early autumn chill to northeast Florida Tuesday.

Florida’s coastal trough is shifting to the south and east to cause lighter winds on Wednesday and a return of sunshine by afternoon.
