THE AZORES-BERMUDA HIGH DOMINATES THE ATLANTIC

2013-06-18_061713

There are no tropical storms. The only disturbed area is a tropical wave or trough in the western Caribbean Sea south of Cuba moving westward that became Tropical Depression 2 Monday. It will be over land through Wednesday night; therefore it is unlikely to become a tropical storm. By late Thursday it will brush the waters of the extreme southwest Gulf of Mexico near the place where the Pacific storm BARBARA dissipated. If Depression 2 develops briefly into a tropical storm near the Gulf waters, it would be named BARRY.
