WIND AND RAIN PRIOR TO HURRICANE SEASON

2013-05-02_122337
Nor’easter like conditions along our coast are producing unsettled weather as we enter the month of May. The pressure gradient between a weak Gulf low pressure moving towards south Florida and the Bahamas by the weekend, combined with high pressure to the north over the eastern seaboard will be driving maritime monsoon-like showers across Florida and Georgia through Saturday.

Fortunately after the weekend, the low pressure will shift northward into the mid-Atlantic states. This will allow high pressure and drier weather to settle over our area through much of next week. Sunny skies after these rains should provide our landscape with an abundance of May flowers!
