RAFAEL LEAVES CARIBBEAN, BECOMING HURRICANE MONDAY!

At 8 AM AST Monday, Tropical Storm RAFAEL was centered 290 miles north of San Juan, Puerto Rico moving north northwest at 9 mph. Peak winds were 70 mph.


On Monday, RAFAEL will become a hurricane 700 miles east southeast of Nassau, Bahamas and 1,000 miles east southeast of Jacksonville. It will continue to move northward ahead of a cold front that will be moving eastward along the east coast of the U.S.
