NADINE IS HISTORY – TIED FOR SECOND LONGEST-LASTING TROPICAL STORM!

Tropical Storm NADINE has tied Hurricane GINGER as the second longest-lasting tropical storm in history. It was mainly confined to the central and eastern Atlantic waters, but as far as distance traveled Hurricane GINGER in 1971 traveled much farther. It formed northeast of the Bahamas, traveled more than halfway across the Atlantic Ocean before returning only a few hundred miles from its birthplace, then turned northwest to strike North Carolina.
