ERNESTO MADE LANDFALL AROUND 11 PM EDT TUESDAY.

Steering currents will weaken enough to slow ERNESTO’s westward movement, but it may not be over the Bay of Campeche long enough to regain hurricane status. Also, the track may take ERNESTO so close to shore that it may not have access to enough warm water energy to significantly strengthen. A slight shift a bit north or south can tip the scale the storm’s strength Thursday either way.
