DRIER AIR IS WEAKENING DEBBY, BUT SOME RAINS LINGER

At 2 PM Tuesday, DEBBY is barely a tropical storm with peak winds only 40 mph. The storm was centered 35 miles west northwest of Cedar Key moving faster eastward at 6 mph. It will continue to accelerate across north central Florida on Wednesday.

With saturated grounds and swollen streams and rivers, no more rain can be tolerated. As drier air infiltrates DEBBY’s circulation, pockets of moist air can trigger periods of locally heavy rain, isolated thunderstorms and a possible tornado or two. The best news is that the bright end of a miserable week is in sight!
