DEBBY STAYS IN GULF – A SLOW MOVER!

At 8 AM EDT Sunday, Tropical Storm Debby was centered 170 miles SE of the mouth of the Mississippi River, drifting northward at 2 mph with peak winds of 60 mph.

Heaviest rains are to the right of Debby’s center, extending from north of Cuba through the Florida Keys to Florida’s lower Gulf coast. Frequent rains are covering most of the eastern third of the Gulf of Mexico. An abundant supply of tropical moisture will cause frequent showers over Florida through Monday. There will be a decrease in showers beginning Tuesday as Debby draws closer to the Texas coast. Afternoon temperatures over Florida will be in the 90s during the last half of the week.
