LEE NOW A DEPRESSION TO MOVE NORTHEAST

No more advisories being issued on remnants of LEE, losing tropical characteristics.

Having left the warm Gulf waters and being mixed with drier air, the remnants of LEE have turned into a frontal low. A warm front has developed on the east and southeast side where warm tropical air is overrunning cooler air over the southeastern U.S. north of the frontal boundary. The cold front moving through the eastern U.S. will be reducing the rainfall over the Gulf states beginning Labor Day as the flood waters from the weekend rains slowly begin to recede.

Computer models and forecasts from the National Hurricane Center continue showing KATIA taking a turn to the north by midweek, and to the northeast by week’s end.
