TROPICAL STORM LEE HAS A DRY SIDE!

Typical of tropical storms, the heaviest rains are north and east of the center.

Up to 5 inches of rain soaked New Orleans this morning. At 2 PM EDT, the center of tropical storm LEE was about 45 miles southwest of Morgan City LA. The storm was moving northward, but now it has stalled. Peak winds were around 60 mph. The drier air may be the bright side of a soggy weekend as we look to the west of the storm. But LEE will be a slow mover and we are still concerned with the wrap-around rain bands to the north and northwest of the circulation center. The slow movement to the north today is expected to turn to the northeast across Mississippi tonight and Sunday.
Stay tuned.
