TROPICAL STORM TO FORM OFF LOUISIANA COAST

Conditions are becoming very favorable for tropical storm formation in the Gulf of Mexico.

We’re watching the Gulf of Mexico where tropical storm LEE will probably form before the weekend. Unlike the straight-forward predictions with IRENE and the preliminary model predictions for KATIA, the track for tropical storm LEE will be a real challenge. Check the HURRICANE TRACKER – SEE MODELS at the top of the HURRICANE Section of JustWeather. We will have to chose between this storm’s possibly stalling, looping, or eventually hitting Louisiana or Texas.

When this storm forms, it may be a slow mover. Warnings or watches for parts of the Louisiana or Texas coast may be extended for more than one day. Stay tuned!
