THIRD ARCTIC OUTBREAK IS HERE!

Extreme cold, but dry with no snow here.

La Nina was expected to bring a milder winter after a very active hurricane season. Our December certainly hasn’t been mild so far, but the whole season may average near or above average when all is said and done.

The winter of 1984-85 averaged 1.5 degrees warmer than normal between December and March in spite of the fact that on January 21 Jacksonville has it’s coldest all time low of 7 degrees!

I’m sure John Gaughan and our weather team will be kept busy for a while, even in a La Nina winter.
