TROPICAL STORM KARL FORMS AS EXPECTED!

Tropical storm warnings are posted for the eastern Yucatan peninsula.

The high pressure over the southern U.S. that has lowered our humidities and caused more pleasant temperatures will keep tropical storm KARL well to the south of us, and will block IGOR from our east coast.

At 8 AM Wednesday, KARL was centered 45 miles east of Chetumal, Mexico moving towards the west northwest around 13 mph. Peak winds are 65 mph will probably be near 70 mph as the storm hits the east coast of the Yucatan peninsula around midday. After decreasing over land to depression status, KARL’s winds are expected increase to hurricane force before hitting the coast between Tampico and Vera Cruz Friday night.
