HERMINE CAUSES FLOODS IN TEXAS, WHILE NEW STORM FORMS IN THE EASTERN ATLANTIC

New storm, Igor, forms nearly 4,000 miles (10 days) away near Cape Verde Islands.

Between former tropical storm Hermine and new tropical storm Igor, all that remains of Gaston is a stretched out trough of low pressure over Hispaniola. We’ll be watching that disturbance once it clears the land mass of Cuba and reaches the Gulf waters near the Yucatan peninsula at week’s end.
