DANIELLE BACK TO HURRICANE STRENGTH

Centered about 970 miles from Myrtle Beach, SC, Danielle's course becomes uncertain beginning Sunday.

Hurricane Danielle continues on the projected course well east of the U.S. in the Atlantic over 1,000 miles east of Jacksonville. Uncertainties between surface high pressures and variations of trough forecasts in the westerlies show diverging computer model tracks beyond 5 days into the future.

This weekend will bring gusty northeast winds and rough surf to our beaches. The winds will come from a strong high pressure centered over Virginia, while the rough surf will come from Danielle a thousand miles out in the Atlantic. Beachgoers should beware of rip currents along our shores.
