WATCHING THE GULF AGAIN!

Not a threat to us, but may become the next Gulf storm.

A weak area of low pressure centered on the Gulf coast near the Ft. Myers-Naples area is expected to be over the Gulf of Mexico through midweek. While the middle and upper atmosphere is relatively dry (indicated by the lack of clouds over the northeast Gulf), falling pressures over the next 48 to 72 hours should wrap moist air around the low center. Upper winds do not indicate a strong outflow for convective activity; in fact, the northern Gulf should have a strong shear to the west, similar to Bonnie a few weeks ago.
