END OF IDA, NOR’EASTER BREWING!

2009-11-10_140624IDA drops to depression stage and moves eastward across northern Florida. As a frontal wave, it rolls into the Atlantic to the South Carolina coast on Wednesday. A Great Lakes high pressure will push a cold front down into the southeastern US which will send colder weather into our area. The intensifying Carolina coastal storm on Thursday will prduce the strongest nor’easter conditions from the Carolinas northward to the Delmarva area where gale force winds will generate rough seas and beach erosion. Rip currents may extend southward to our beaches by Friday as large swells are generated by the ocean storm. The low is expected to drift eastward on the weekend causing clearing skies and lighter winds for our area.
