A STORMY TUESDAY IN MUCH OF THE SOUTHEAST U.S.

A frontal (non-tropical) storm will send rains eastward.

A frontal (non-tropical) storm will send rains eastward.

The El Nino jet stream has created a large reservoir of tropical moisture over the western Gulf of Mexico. The warm, moist air in advance of the cold front in the Plains and falling pressures on the western edge of the warm front moving northward over the eastern Gulf will bring heavy (flooding) rains to areas stretching from Louisiana to northern Georgia on Tuesday. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms can be expected over northeast Florida and southeast Georgia on Tuesday with our heaviest rains occurring ahead of the cold front Tuesday night into early Wednesday.
