UPPER WINDS STRIP BAHAMA SHOWERS AWAY

Gulf showers will affect parts of Florida this weekend.

Gulf showers will affect parts of Florida this weekend.

The showers in the Gulf of Mexico ahead of a cold front will be pushed into the Atlantic off our coast by tonight. As we get cooler, drier air from the north Sunday, scattered showers connected with the stalling front will cloud up their skies downstate. The remnants of the Bahama tropical disturbance under the shearing upper level winds will be absorbed by the weak front in southern Florida.
El Nino conditions are continuing to work in our favor as we only have one month left in the 2009 hurricane season.
