Cold front moves away as a record October chill settles over us.

A rain-free week is ahead as near record cold takes over our weather. Sunday morning’s record low of 32 at Pinson, AL and one to 2 inches of snow in higher elevations of the Great Smoky Mountains accompanied the advance of this fall’s coldest weather towards us.

The Caribbean tropical wave will cause heavy rains in parts of central America, but atmospheric conditions do not favor tropical storm development on the Atlantic side of central America.
