The tropics are quiet, but frontal storms approach from the west

The quasi-stationary front that has been see-sawing over northeast Florida since the weekend will shift northward today. Since this is the warm front phase of motion, our temperatures will be 10 degrees warmer than the cool 74 degrees we had yesterday.
A band of showers and thunderstorms in the Florida panhandle will collide with the warm front this afternoon. Afternoon heating combined with increased shower activity may cause severe thunderstorms near the warm front, especially from the Georgia line northward.
Stay alert for possible severe weather warnings this afternoon and evening.
