Cold front and jet stream will keep ocean storm away from U.S.

Thunderstorms to the east and north of the developing low pressure center halfway between Bermuda and Cape Cod may develop into a semi-tropical system. The cold front along the east coast can put a damper in its becoming the next storm, Grace.

Elsewhere, tropical waves in the easterlies are being watched in the deep tropics between latitudes 5 and 15 degrees. But thanks to EL Nino, upper level wind shear and a trough over the Caribbean make tropical storm development unlikely this week.
